Mothers Day...

Happy Mothers Day, we are celebrating Mother's day in South Africa and I wanted to write a post, to also invite and celebrate Motherhood regardless of where you are.....

I'm dedicating this post to all Mothers...

I was never told how hard being a Mother really was going to be, I was never told that I would change as a person, I was never told the love that can grow for your child grows increasingly everyday...it's almost scary, I was never told that one day I would understand the meaning of "being overprotective", I was never told the exact science of Motherly instinct...and above all, I was never told how much I could truly love someone, beyond imagination.  All of what I was never told is because until you become a Mother yourself you will never truly understand what it is to be a Mother...

In today's society woman have evolved so dramatically that it is now hard to comprehend the role of a Mother from yesteryear.  However, you cannot mistake the fact that although we have evolved as Mothers the level of difficulty, challenge and stress of being a mother has not altered.  Yesteryear had its own disadvantages, and Mothers everywhere conquered the upbringing of children everywhere.

Fast forward to today and we as Mothers are still trying to perfect the art of Motherhood.  Love, finance, careers, time, stress...the list goes on as to what we as Mothers need to deliver and work around.

I would like to take a moment and thank my Mother for handing down the baton of Motherhood to me.  In my eyes my Mother is the most beautiful woman I have ever met, she has a strength that I struggle to match.  My Mother you would say was a Mother of yesteryear, she gave up all her dreams and career ambitions to be a stay at home Mother in order for her two children become successful in their own right.  Today she is proud of what we have accomplished, but it is she who deserves the credit.  For, if it was not for her love, discipline, sacrifice, teachings and support, we would not be the people we are today.  She has taught me and continues to teach me to be a Mother my child would be proud to call "Mum".

I don't generally ask for comments, but would love to hear from you if you have a comment about a Mother you know, or the Mother you are and what makes that person the Mother they are today.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Serene Motherhood...
